MY ACTOR MISSION STATEMENT

Being on set is a holy thing. A sacred place, an altar where life is created. The place for jokes or rough housing is as unseemly here as it would be at a surgeon's operating table. It is an Actor's mission to keep his/her place separate of anything that could hinder her/his process. The creation of Life only happens once through the camera. There may be different takes or setups but that singular moment only comes once. Actors, be aware of your place on set and don't let anything disturb it. It's a calling worthy of your total attention and a privilege few understand. I still have much to learn.

To be a good actor, to be a true actor, you have to know yourself. It’s what you contribute to the role. Teachers and lessons are great, but unless you know yourself, you’ll never be true. Even when you’re playing character roles, whatever behavior, whatever physicality the role requires, it all comes from you. Behavior is the fruit. Your inner life is the root.
